I can feel the Love of Pak Lah to Endon

Today, the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib moved a motion of condolence to our Prime Minister and his family in Parliament. All the political parties were represented in the debate of the motion.
The motion reads:

YAB Deputy Prime Minister to move:-

“Bahawa Dewan in merakamkan perasaan dukacita yang amat sangat di atas kembalinya ke Rahmatullah Allahyarhamah Y.A.Bhg. Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, isteri Y.A.B Perdana Menteri pada 20 Oktober 2005 dan menyampaikan ucapan takziah kepada Y.A.B Perdana Menteri dan keluarganya”
After the debate, the PM seek the permission of the Speaker to speak.

When he was delivering his speech, I could feel how much his love for the wife. In brief, he asked for forgiveness and thanked the public on behalf of the wife. He also gave assurance that the projects which Endon was involved would be carried on. He shared the pain that Endon had to go through during the difficult moments of her life in fighting against breast cancer.

Pak Lah, your consecutive 4 days of visit to the grave of Endon to offer prayers, I know, you are lonely and you miss her very much.

I understand your feelings. I can feel your love to Endon. When she is alive, your simple action of holding her hand in public, I know you love Endon a lot.

Our dear Prime Minister, I just want to let you know, you are not alone. I am with you. The nation is with you. We will work with you in this difficult period in your chapter of life and the struggle to make Malaysia a better country and nation for Malaysians. Be strong.

  6. People can be so insensitive. There’s nothing political about losing a life partner. When something like this happen, he is just a man like any other.

  7. Public figures and public servants are not private individuals who can demand sensitivity to their private lives. The emotions of public figures affect their performance and have a bearing on the direction and leadership of the country. There is nothing insensitive at all.

  8. What do you know about love? Have you ever been in love? Or have anybody ever love you ?

  9. Knowledge about love, in love and be loved have little bearing for the professional conduct of those who live in glass houses and being paid by public funds. Saddam, Hitler, Churchill, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, Tojo etc all loved those who loved them. Their families and friends all loved them greatly. They all wrote great love poems and lectured on love to their followers. What matters in the end as leaders was the good or the bad results that they brought on the world and people. In the long run, all people die. Only results matter and Providence counts.

  10. Now Pak Lah’s relative - his sister-in-law’s company was involved as the biggest briber to Saddam Hussien in the oil for food UN programme, wake up all romantics and crybabies to the hard reality of life - people are suffering while the well connected played out their public image and persona.

  11. Love aside, continuing with cancer campaigns and building a cancer institute when his love one died is not a thing the politician should do at this very moment. It should have been done much much earlier. There are millions and millions of sufferers before this. Why all the hoo haa now?
