Invited Guest, *Chieng Jen: Where is Hornbill Skyways Helicopter Clashes Reports?

Where is the Hornbill Skyways helicopter clashes reports?

Three Hornbill Skyways helicopter clashes occured in July, 2004, September, 2004 and July 2005 had caused the death of 14.

Ministers in Sarawak are now afraid of taking the helicopter to visit in the inland area. What about the government officers and the flying doctors who are still compelled to use the notorious Hornbill Skyways helicopters?

Until today, only report on the first clash was completed. There is still no report on the 2nd and 3rd clashes.

After the 2nd clash, Hornbill Skyways’ licence to fly was suspended. After a few weeks, it was granted a provisional licence to fly and one of the conditions imposed by Depart’ment of Civil Aviation for granting the provisional licence to fly was that the company must engage a professional manager, an accountable manager to manage the company.

A professional manager was engaged on 15-3-2005 but was sacked on 15-7-2005, on the ground of redundancy. Shortly after the professional manager was sacked, the 3rd clash occurred.

Investigation on the 2nd and 3rd clashes ought to be sped up because everyday our government servants and medicle teams are still using the helicopters to visit the inland area to carry out their duties.

The ministers and politicians of Barisan Nasional had a choice not to use the helicopters but the government officers do not have such luxury.

* Dear friends, I would be inviting some guests to post in my blog. The first is Chong Chieng Jen, MP for Bandar Kuching. He is a first term MP and a lawyer by profession. Happy reading!

  2. YB Chong : As a responsible MP from that region, you should endeavour to get the authorities to ensure timely completion of the investigation of the two incidents. And i think it is also important to explain what causes them and the steps to ensure no repeat in future. YB should make it a personal agenda to ensure flight and public safety. Do it without regard whether you can score a point against BN or not. It’s the public that matters. Go ahead… make their day!!!
