This was the message sent through sms by Haziq Jaafar to his cousin , ” ada budak nak pukul Ajik malam ini” (someone will hit me tonight)

Haziq Jaafar, 17 years old died after a fight with another trainee. This was athe third death in a national service training camp. It was reported that the death of Haziq Jaafar occured due to a fight over a cigarette.

I have put in an emergency motion in Parliament requesting that all the businesses in the House be adjourned for the debate of the safety in the national service training camps. Sad to note, it was rejected by the Speaker of the House on the ground that it was not an urgent matter because the Ministry had already taken steps to improve the safety in the camps. (more…)
