Keys to Improve KLIA-Copy, Paste, Cut and Edit

A few months ago, I transit at Changi Airport while on the way to Denmark for IUSY Congress. I was so impressed with the facilities and entertainment. The airport was more like a shopping mall. Shops were busy. I thought the few hours of transit would be difficult hours. I was wrong. I do not need to spend money to pass the time.

There were free internet service at many corners. Also, free video game machines. There were playgrounds for children too. There were many choices of food and the prices were reasonable too.

Immediately, I wonder why couldn’t some of these ideas be used in our KLIA? One just need to use the few keys, ie; copy, paste, cut and edit. One do not need to crack the head to think of new ideas to make KLIA livelier. I believe the Ministers travel to overseas more often than I do. Why they have not seen these ideas, I wonder? However, please do correct me if these facilities already existed in KLIA and I have missed them when I took my flight from KLIA. (more…)

RM 100 Contribution to Road Safety Fund, what say you?

Will the RM 100 contribution to the road safety fund be passed to you when you buy a new car? Who will manage the fund? What kind of road safety campaign? Advertisement in newspaper, tv, radio and leaflets? Or, will one get to see the Minister giving out “hampers” at the tol plaza during the festival season as a reminder to road users to drive carefully?

If you read the reply of the Ministry, you will see that human factor is the main cause of accident. So, could it be that the driving lessons are not comprehensive or there are still hanky panky out there when you sit for your driving test?

I have checked some news report. Last year, 400, 835 vehicles were sold and imagine the amount of money which would be collected, if RM 10o for a car is contributed to the fund. The fund would have at least RM 40 million! Aren’t you concern now? (more…)

Reply to Question No.7- Program Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah

The reply regarding this question is short and simple. The conditions to be qualified for this programme are not too strict. What has prompted me to ask this question to the Education Ministry?

I have received a complaint from a temporary teacher, who is earning approximately RM 600 only. She is a graduate from Multimedia University with Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)(Information Systems Engineering) - First Class Hounours. She was in the Dean’s List. She applied for this Programme, which allows undergraduates to be trained as teacher. She was called for the interview but failed. She obtained an A in the chinese subject . In fact, she was a top scorer during her school days.
Until today, she is still teaching in the school. I was told that the principal want her to stay in the school. She has the passion in this field. Please do not let her down. There is still shortage of teachers with higher qualification. What is wrong with the system in this country? (more…)

Foo Yueh Jiin vs Fong Po Kuan in IIU (Final)

During my first term as an MP, I was in a dilemma. Should I or should I not raise the issue in Parliament — the imposition of the headscarf on non-Muslim students at the university. Would I be damaging the image of my alma mater? Why did those questions bug me?

What did Foo Yueh Jiin have in mind when she emailed Kit Siang and requested that he bring up the imposition of the headscarf on non-Muslim students at IIUM? Why didn’t I speak up when I was at IIUM? Why was I not as courageous as Foo Yueh Jiin? (more…)
