Please, Hands On Pak Lah!

Yesterday, I left the House feeling down and worried for my beloved country. Will things be better or worst in the coming years?

During the debate of the Supplementary Supply (2006) Bill 2007, I called upon the Prime Minister (PM) to be hands on in the affairs of the country. Lim Kit Siang, the Oppositon Leader did say it earlier during his debate.

I said that I do understand the responsibilities of the PM is heavy and he has to travel to overseas frequently. However, the PM should respect the House and attend meetings to hear personally issues of public importance raised by MPs. If PM is in the House, he could see personally the manner some of his Ministers replying to questions raised too. I am not seeing his cabinet ministers are of much assistance to him.

There were some “indiscipline” or seen non practice of collective responsibilities among his cabinet ministers. For instance, there were incidents of expressed disagreements or unhappiness among themselves over some public matters; The former Minister of Home Affairs and the present Minister of Home Affairs over the cancellation of lucky draws for the Mykad applicants; The Minister of Works and Minister of Health over the delayed construction of a hospital; The Minister of Human Resources and Minister of Home Affairs over the Foreign Workers Bill.

Not only that, PM’s “right hand man”, the Deputy Internal Security Minister, Datuk Mohd Johari Baharum was accused of being paid RM 5.5 million for the release of two suspected criminals. His Deputy also openly scolded his subordinate for the discrepancies of the crime statistics (to me, it reflects that the Deputy himself has failed in his duties!). Ministry of Internal Security is under the PM! Not much improvement is seen on public safety.

Oh yes, the Deputy Prime Minister was also challenged to appear in Parliament to deny his involvement in the murder of Altantuya.

The PM was in the House to table the Budget 2007 last year and on 19.3.2007 for the opening of the fourth session of 11th Parliament. Both these occasions are compulsory attendance for the PM. Thereafter, I only get to read about his appearances in opening ceremonies of events and his visits in foreign countries.

In short, the PM needs to be “hands on” and reduce his traveling to overseas and attend to problems facing the country internally especially on public safety.

No reply from the Minister of Prime Minister’s Department, Dato’ Seri Nazri Mohamed regarding these remarks I made during the said debate.

Where are we, the Malaysians heading to under the leadership of BN government, Pak Lah?

  1. YB Fong, do not feel down, we are behind you and DAP all the way.
True our country is falling apart and all the bn members know about it. Do they care, NO, they are more concern about themselves and their families and cronies.

For us, we must be ready and well prepared for the coming GE which is going to be the dirtiest of all dirtest and the EC is so biase that they can just ignore bn offences during the election.

We just have to live with it but surely we are going to fight to the end.

I may not have the opportunity to see a change of government, but you are still young and hopefully your struggle will be fruitful.

I pray for you and all the DAP members for your hardwork and fighting spirit.

    May God Bless You All

  3. Believe the MBWA (management by walking about) is clearly not in practise in parliment. Our beloved PM is now in the doldrum. Not in sync with the rakyat and leaving the entire administration of the country to a few bureaucrats. It’s very worrying.

  4. YB Fong,
May I ask why you did not link DAP website and the other DAP member blogs?

You should all link to each other to gain popularity in Google’s point of view. That is, your placement in search engines will be higher and more easily searchable by people.

  5. Even Monkey can do their work perfectly after being trained or would learned the lesson when made a mistake and also know how to improve their skills in order to survive in the jungle. But today, our country is almost 50 year old now. The BN monkeys still acted like nobody business and bring the nation development to the worst. It is time to change them otherwise our nation will be suffered.

  6. YB Fong,

I think I may have confused you about the linking process. I saw that you are now linking to DAP members blogs but you removed the previous links that you have place.

Linking process to gain popularity is one of the criteria for search engines.

I saw your link at malaysia-today was removed.

When you link to popular sites, your site must also be linked from their sites in order to gain popularity. i.e call incoming link.

You may be busy to take note of this importance but try to get your blog mentioned by other popular blogs, in doing so your blog link will be identified in their blogs.

If you need any further explanations, you have my email, feel free to contact me.

  7. I’m having a stronger feeling day by day that our PM was merely a ‘Mr Nicer Guy’ mascot in the last GE. Sad but true. I can’t wait to see what or which mascot BN is going to use in the next GE. Any guess?

  8. It’s time to destroy all this. Seize the chance. Work out a plan. I’ll be there when the time comes. To change, you must first destruct.
