DPM, Jasin and Kinabatangan - Sexist Mindset
When I read about the remarks of Najib, I was shocked. How could the 2nd top man in the ruling government has the same mindset as YB Jasin and YB Kinabatangan? How can women in Malaysia be expected to be treated equally as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution if the Deputy Prime Minister fails to understand the outcry of the public over the sexist remarks made by the 2 BN MPs in Parliament?
Although Sharizat did mention that she would raise this issue in the Cabinet, I wonder if she would like to let us know where she was when the matter was raised in the Parliament. The motion was raised at about 10.05 am and the decision of the Speaker was delivered at about 2.30 pm. It must be difficult for the speaker to make the said decision because he took about 4 1/2 hours.
A woman Parliamentary Secretary was in the House when I raised the motion. Why didn’t she inform Sharizat?
Same goes to other female BN MPs. In fact I was told that one of them received a sms asking her to be in the House at 2.30 pm to vote on the motion.
None of the female BN MPs were in the House at 2.30pm. Why stayed away? Or, it sounds better, why the absence?
What about male MPs? I mean from BN, except YB Petrajaya, YB Jasin and YB Kinabatangan. None from BN stood up to criticise the sexist remarks, I think, the least he or she could do.
However, some are speaking up outside the House now.
The remarks was not a personal attack. Neither it sounded a joke. Also, it should not be view as a woman issue.
The said sexist remarks has insulted the dignity of each of us, our mother, daughter and sister. It has affected the reputation of the Honourable House.
Where were they when the Malaysian women wanted the support to stop sexism and discrimination in the House?
If Pak Lah also reluctant to take action against the 2 sexist BN MPs, it leaves us no choice but to be reminded to fully use our people’s power in the next general election.
The protest organised by JAG, the posting on blogs, the letters to the editors and etc - Thank you so much. Together we can make a change.

Bad leadership in government shows up in the country as bad parenting, bad schooling, bad road behavior, bad influences on youths who will be our future leaders. If people in high places with such attitude are not checked it will just escalate downwards. We are already tasting the results of years of such behavior.
What is progress if we are uncouth barbarians in neckties?

YB PoKuan, just a short note to tell you how proud we are in having the likes of you in Parliament. Bad enough that you have to mingle with those monkeys and orang utans from Borneo and pirates of the Jasinbean, and then still have to put up with the diarrhea from their leakagfrom their mouth.
We admire your guts and gumption.Hopefully we have more pokuans in the next election.

I’m very agree with you. It is unfair to ignore what they(YB Jasin and YB Kinabatangan)have done. Especially the parliament committee, they seems like deaf at that time.Very disappointing, the Malaysian Parliament will be threat as a joke if I tell my overseas friends about this.

Dear Po Kuan, I just came across a Petition asking for them to be sacked and would like to say that we evolved a culture that allowed these fellows to thrive and on that score alone, their aberration is our creation, hence, our ‘collective’ responsibility.
You and Sheena Moorthy are ‘us’ and ‘our’ conduits through which the offenders expressed their aberrations, therefore, cleaning duties are collectively ours, period.
What I’m saying is, save for shaming the aberration, it would be ‘self-defeatist’ on our part to sack or put them away from society as many have suggested.
Po Kuan, your ‘fix the world’ culture have always made us proud and I guess ‘fixing Malaysia’ is just a little mental hurdle for you.
Even a wild rabid dog is your responsibility, simply because its nature is indirectly your creation and note, ‘affinity’ has always been a pre-requisite to re-training such rogues. Extermination of a ‘controllable’ beast is at best, lack of responsibility, at worst, the result of hate.
Po Kuan, in jest, I’m not asking you to land on the moon, but seriously, I’m asking that we keep our offensive brothers in the fold, we ourselves created, and show them how to behave.

Chin up, YB. You got many supporters.
I am damn pissed as my hard earned tax money is used to pay such intellectually and morally challenged individuals to chart the fortune of the nation in the august house.
I think most Malaysians can deliver better debate than this lot. Just watched them in youtube and really, after watching the British and US legislators as well, I feel we are way behind.
In fact I am now having the impression that English can expressed intelligence better than BM! This is the impact of the relatively low quality of exchange in our august house - it gives our national language an undeserve image of inadequacy as a language of intelligence.

Their words shud put them out of the Dewan. But im surprised to see the BN leaders being calm over the incident. This is disappointing. It brings shame to malaysia. For Pokuan, I hope the best for you and there will be millions rooting for you!!!

yup, keep up the good work!!! my mrs and i would like to tell you how much we agree and support your stand on this issue.
it just goes to show how shallow and spineless the majority of our MPs! (minus YB Dompok) if they dare not to stand up for their own belief and integrity, how the hell do you think they will stand up for the rakyat they are ’supposed’ to represent!
the malaysian malaise.

I’m not at all surprised. It’s an unspoken rule that the component party CANNOT support any motions tabled by the opposition, regardless if it goes against their moral upbringing and values, nevermind that it brings disgrace to them and their family.
They want to protect their rice bowls also, you know. If they support, then get suspended, then how?
That’s the way the country is being run now, a bunch of ‘kan mei kow’ (literally translated to dogs following the pack). Ooops! I was just joking. I’m sure the YBs would not take offence. After all, I was typing this full of anger.

Dear Po Kuan, Malaysia really needs someone who is bold enough to speak up for the women’s rights. We need more responsible and well-disciplined YB. YB Jasin & YB Kinabatangan are just seeking cheap publicity. We know what their ultimate motives are! Po Kuan, you have our support.
