I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed. The remarks were not made by me or any DAP MPs.

This morning, there was a question by MP for Gombak which asked the Minister of Foreign Affiars to state whether OIC will intervene in the sectarian conflict in Lebanon that has resulted in many being killed.

This question was answered by the Parliamentary Secretary, Ahmad Shabery Cheek

MP for Sri Gading then took the opportunity to ask a supplementary question which, to me, sounded rude, crude and disrespectful. The remarks was made against the Head of European Commission Delegation to Malaysia, Thierry Rommel.

As I am writing this post, the two Malaysian astronauts are sitting at the VIP gallery behind my seat. The House was alerted of their presence by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations. Yes, the Minister, Dato Seri Jamaluddin Jarjis hardly attend Parliament sitting and this time, he brought along the astronauts.

MPs are debating the National Measurement System Bill. As usual, MP for Jerai started to link his speech to the two astronauts. YB Pengkalan Chepa suddenly stood up and asked clarification from YB Jerai. He asked, if the astronauts practice prayers or not in the space.

There is not in the Bill is related to astronauts or outspace.

I have seen their pictures in the newspaper. Indeed, he is good looking. Another, seems a little shy.

I only hope that the two astronauts will not be stressed to attend functions organised by BN like what had happened to our two All-England men’s doubles champions Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong for the Machap by election.

I was having bad dreams. Things had improved. I could sleep comfortablely when i was in Sabah with Teresa for few days.

I came back on Wednesday and straight for a full moon dinner of my cousin’s newborn. The next day, I was caught up with appointments and complaints. In fact, I slept quite “early” about 10 pm but mum woke me up. She wanted me to park the car inside the porch. Before I could go back to my bed, she read the news to me. She told me about the news report, gang raped which happened in Johor. We had a short chat about the unsafe environment we are in and the seriousness of crime in the country.

Then, bad dreams came back that night.

I dreamt of snakes. Snakes were surrounding me and trying to bite me. Snake, a reptile which I fear most. When I watch tv, I will switch to another channel if it is showing this reptile. When I visit the Zoo, I would avoid the cages with snakes.

What is the message in the dream?

One thing for sure, I am living in fear. Not only am fear for the safety of myself but more for my family members. Whenever I receive forwarded emails warning or sharing about experiences of how the sender’s friend was attacked, I would send a sms to my sister and warn her. If I read about a crime incident happened in Puchong area, similarly, I would do the same. My dad too. When he heard from his friends about the “latest” approach taken by criminal to trick or attack the victim, dad would tell me. Again, I will share with my sister and my comrades.

Still remember that Pak Lah did once express his sadness over the high crime rate? If I am not mistaken, when the victim was killed. What has happened to the promises of safe environment? Money is allocated, manpower increased by thousands, cctvs, task force, increased of patrol cars and rakan cop, yet, myself and millions out there are still living in fear. The latest incidents of robbery-gang raped in Johor only show that situation has not improved but getting worst despite all the abovestated actions.

Pak Lah, this is within your jurisdiction and under your Ministry. Blame not the women and this is not about not trusting or co-operating with the police.

I still fear snakes but fear for the safety of my loved ones more!
