I have asked the Minister of Internal Security to state the number of police report made by tourist who became the crime victim or dissatisfied with the enforcement officer since the Visit Malaysia Year 2007. State the type of crime whereby the tourists become the target.

Fong Po Kuan (Batu Gajah) minta Menteri Keselamatan Dalam Negeri menyatakan berapakah laporan polis yang dibuat oleh pelancong yang menjadi mangsa jenayah atau ketidakpuasan hati terhadap pegawai penguatkuasa sejak Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2007 ini. Nyatakan jenis jenayah di mana pelancong menjadi sasarannya.

I always hate it when I pass through the Puchong toll operated by Litrak. However, this morning, a huge banner hang on the booth caught my attention. For this matter, I would like to compliment Litrak. The huge banner is about the missing girl, Nurin Jazlin, 8 years old. She has been missing for the past 21 days. I pray for her safety and do hope that she will return to her family as soon as possible.

The members of DAP Batu Gajah and Pasir Pinji participated in the Merdeka parade last Sunday. It was at the District Level. The last time we participated was 2 years ago. That was when the above photograph on my blog was taken.

I wrote to the Perak State government . Sadly, the “application” to send a team to participate in the Merdeka parade was rejected. This was the reply,”Dukacita dimaklumkan bahawa permohonan Yang Berhormat untuk menyertai perarakan sempena menyambut tahun ke-50 kemerdekaan tidak dapat dipertimbangkan.” . Yup, no reason was given for not approving my application to be involved in the State level celebration.

Most of the DAP members who participated the parade were above 40 years old and we did not practice before the event. Most of them had fun. A good exercise and laugh during the parade!

Dear YB Fong,

Coincidentally I tried to send a letter (see below) to the Star yesterday voicing my concern as a parent. Since it was not published, I hope you can publish my letter on your blog and hopefully it reaches the right ears. By doing so maybe we can prevent a cover up of problems more serious than we thought.

This is an open letter to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.

My daughter has been selected for NS training next year. Naturally, reading of yet another NS tragic death in the STAR yesterday (”NS trainee dies of fever”) we could not help feeling worried for our daughter’s safety and welfare.

More worrying is the alleged complaint by the victim’s family of the apathetic attitude of the camp officials when the victim’s sister called to enquire on the victim’s health condition after the victim had contacted his sister to inform her of his poor health condition. It was a desperate cry for help to his family to save him. He had to die alone. (more…)

Tubuh Jawatankuasa Penyiasat Bebas bagi menyiasat punca kematian Mohd. Rafi Ameer, pelatih PLKN dan Tangguh Pengambilan Tambahan 10,000 pelatih

Dua hari yang lalu, seorang lagi pelatih Porgram Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN), Mohd. Rafi Ameer telah meninggal dunia ketika menjalani program tersebut di Kem Cheneh Cemerlang, Kemaman.

Menurut laporan, kakak sulung mangsa, Jubaidah Ameer telah dimaklumkan oleh doktor yang bertugas di Hospital Kemaman bahawa adiknya menghidap sakit kuning ekoran termakan najis haiwan.

Walaupun ia telah dilaporkan bahawa satu jawatankuasa penyiasat yang diketuai oleh Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Sektor Operasi Latihan JLKN, Jamaluddin Masrin akan menyiasat kejadian tersebut, tetapi, ia adalah tidak memadai dan mencukupi. (more…)
