Speak up,everybody out there.
There is a poll on the GE conducted at:
http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/
The poll is being manipulated and spiked by the UMNO/BN cyber troopers.
When it first started, the poll showed about 8% in for the Barisan and 92 % for The Opposition and it stayed that way for many days ,then there was a spike and it went up to about 11.2% and then dropped slowly to 10.7% yesterday mid-night at about 12.00am.Suddenly today at about 1.35 pm it shot up to 13.4 %.I believe it has been actively spiked by BN/UMNO agents.
The BN / UMNO cyber troopers are at work actively spiking the poll.
Visit the site and cast your vote so that it reflect the true sentiments of the RAKYAT.
Again pleas call all your friends to do so to ,otherwise The BN/Umno with the paid agents will spike the polls to influence the less informed and neutral voters.

Dear YB & yr BA comrades,
I am extremely moved by the success of the Barisan Alternatif and the Malaysian people in the 12th GE.
However, in addition to congratulating you all, a few things cross my mind.
“With great powers come great responsibility”
- Stan Lee, creator of Spiderman
“With great expectation comes great responsibility”
- Lee Wee Tak, not related to Stan
BA has started with what Badawi had 4 years ago - great hope of Malaysians for a better tomorrow. As we can see, the bigger they come, the bigger they fall.
I can forgive you guys for being inexperience, naive, over enthusiastic but I cannot forget if you guys go back on promises, statements and pledges made from 2004 till 2008.
I am worried with different fundamental political beliefs, can PKR, DAP and PAS agree on things? Otherwise BN will hardly need to work hard to point out the ineffectiveness of BA.
The campaigning for 2013 election starts now. People of Malaysia will have their eyes on BA elected candidates everyday and we need to work towards convincing the people of Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Melaka, N Sembilan, Pahang and Perlis that they are more capable nation administrators and leaders from BA!
Regards and best wishes

I never thought that this day will ever come ‘cos I’ve given up hope ever since I left M’sia to seek my fortune 20+ years!
Keep up the good work & fight for the rights of everyone especially the non-Bumis. On the Perak MB issue - I tend to believe that it doesn’t matter if Perak gets a PAS leader to be the MB, as long as there is tolerance & understanding for non-Muslim. Wish that the opposition continue to get stronger but not forgetting to improve Malaysia economy.

To my beloved DAP leaders,
Hope this message get to your CEC members as well.
Why you want to sour the already fragile relationship with PAS, at a time where you can work towards strengthening it? PAS has shown willingness to discuss Barisan Rakyat and we rakyat is happy to see the formation of Barisan Rakyat to realize the dream of 2-party system, as long as it carry a mandate of secular state for Malaysia.
And why such a flip-flop? Where is DAP’s integrity? DAP Perak pledged to abide by Sultan of Perak’s choice of Menteri Besar just a day earlier. Why DAP CEC rejects it? Why not discuss this among PAS, PKR and DAP? Why does it has to go public, and in such high profile? You guys are not better than Pak Lah nor BN in handling such situation.
Your report card is already tainted. Go mend the fence now and take corrective action immediately.
regards,
Gerald Khor
ps: Don’t know which email address to use thus use whatever email addresses I know to hope to get my message across.
ps: No doubt my folks back in my hometown Taiping and Port Weld will be scared to hell to have a PAS Menteri Besar, and is probably already blaming me for convincing them to vote PAS and PKR (for Port Weld, or better known as Kuala Sepetang), I am sure they are willing to give it a try, as long as there is no Islamic rules and daily routines not affected by the Menteri Besar appointment.

Subject: Strong disappointment on DAP’s decision over Perak Menteri Besar
Dear YB Karpal Singh, YB Lim Kit Siang, YB Lim Guan Eng,
As a supporter of DAP that believe strongly in “Malaysian’s Malaysia “, I wish to express my strong disappointment on DAP’s decision to disapprove Perak Sultan’s selection of the next Menteri Besar (from a PAS representative). At the very least, please respect the choice made by Sultan Azlan Shah.
We just witness a new era in Malaysia politics after 8th March that gave so much hope to the people of this lovely nation. The loose pact between DAP, PAS and PKR scored big win in GE2008. Please keep up the good work and strengthen the pact. In fact, you guys should just formalize the pact and form Barisan Rakyat as suggested by many concerned Malaysians. Chinese voted for PAS and Malay voted for DAP on 8th March. I personally called my family members to make sure they vote no BN candidates. It is time that DAP seriously consider formalizing a pact with PAS and PKR. PAS seems to come a long way and is becoming more moderate. A pact should be made if PAS can drop their mandate to form an Islamic country.
Please don’t let this pact break away because of selection of Perak Menteri Besar. It is no doubt an important post but the next General Election will be even more important. The bigger task for DAP, PAS and PKR is to prove to the rakyat that you guys can be good government, starting with showing good results in Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak and Selangor. It is a bad start to score an “E” for this fiasco. Furthermore PAS has given its words to work closely with the coalition government in Perak, and DAP has more seats and have been promised the most EXCO members. Give and take will go a long way for this young coalition.
I am a Chinese from Taiping and I have no problem seeing a PAS representative as Perak’s Menteri Besar, as long as there is no Islamic rules (as yet) like those in Kelantan. Given the Constitutional constraints and the state’s demographics, it is fair to have a Malay State Assemblyman to be appointed as Menteri Besar with a Chinese and Indian Naib Menteri Besar representing the other two major races.
The rakyat is still trying to grasp with the new scene in Malaysia politics. For me hailing from Perak, I know it is not easy for the Chinese in Perak to accept a PAS rep as Menteri Besar but we are ready to give him a chance to perform. People voted him (and his coalition government) in this time round. People can vote him out the next time. And we hope DAP will put national interest before party to give this man a chance to perform with his comrades in the Perak State Assembly as well.
If DAP cannot resolve this fiasco properly, all the manifestos and promises given pre-election will not be relevant anymore. Walk-the-talk. Integrity is everything. Otherwise DAP is no different from any BN component parties. And I will regret very much the thousands of dollar donation I made to DAP Malaysia in Jan and Feb 2008.
Thank you for your attention.
regards,
Gerald Khor

True. Such internal squabbling between the state and national level DAP will only weaken DAP itself from the inside.
Im a Perak Voter and this is the firt time im voting. When i heard that Perak DAP is winning the first thing that comes into my mind is “we will be having a chinese MB for a change”. Dont get me wrong, it doesnt necessarily have to be a chinese, but definitely not PAS.

Dear Madam Fong,
I was cautiously optimistic with the recent GE 2008 results. It was a certainly a historical event for Malaysia to have 5 states going to the Opposition and less than 2/3 majority for the Barisan Nasional ruling party.
However, I feel that the voters have been taken for a ride by the empty promises of the Opposition, in particular your party DAP. Perhaps its very true what they say: the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Let me elaborate, Perak was won by the Opposition by a slim 3 seat majority. DAP took 18 seats, PKR 7, and PAS 6. Yet, when I read the news this morning, imagine my surprise that the Perak MB was to be a candidate from PAS. The party that won the least amount of seats gets to sit on the throne. Even PKR would have been the lesser of two evils. The (deleted) that Perak must have a Malay MB is just that - (deleted). The Sultan of Perak has the prerogative to amend this ruling. Any laws made by humans can be revised, after all, we are not talking about divine laws. So I don’t see the problem of having a non-Malay MB. Plus as I have mentioned before, PKR 7 seats is still more than PAS 6. Using this illogic, perhaps an independent candidate that won just 1 seat in Perak could be elected as MB?
I say again, truly my faith in the empty promises of the Opposition has been misplaced. Here is to 5 years of progressing backwards.

YB,
Get the professionals to help. It will help DAP give a better performance. Basis should not be to reward loyal supporters, if theyc annot perform. What the rakyat wants to see now is performance. And DAP needs to work hard over the next 3-4 years or else it will end up being kicked out just like BN.
Work together with PAS and PKR to show Malaysians Boleh!

In Kit Siang’s latest blog entry, he says that DAP had no relation with PAS before 8/3, and that the voters’ choice has created a scenario that led to their co-operation.
However, this raises serious questions.
Why did DAP refuse to work with PAS before 8/3? If DAP leaders believed that PAS’s agenda of Islamic state and Islamisation was no longer a problem in this general election, why didn’t they form a coalition with PAS alongside PKR during the election campaign?
If their reservation about PAS’s agenda led to their refusal to co-operate with them before 8/3, do they seriously believe that this (i.e. PAS’s agenda of Islamic state, which led to DAP’s reservation in the first place) is no longer a problem after 5pm on 8/3?
If PAS’s agenda of Islamic state, which led to DAP’s refusal to co-operate with them before 5pm 8/3, remains the same before and after 5pm 8/3, DAP’s current co-operation with PAS will be rightly deemed as unprincipled:
Before 5pm, 8/3, DAP refused to work with PAS because of X; after 5pm, 8/3, DAP is willing to work with PAS DESPITE X.

YB Fong,
I have heard rumours that Anwar is working on turning 20 UMNO MP’s into PKR members. This will reduce BN’s strength in parliament even further. The rumour goes further to state that after April, he will then get the remaining candidates from Sabah and Sarawk to cross over to PKR so that the opposition have more seats in Parliament. That would then force Pak Lah to step down as PM, and maybe as chief of umno too.
Anwar is known to be ambitious and in a hurry to become PM. I expect that he will succeed in his efforts to get umno MP’s to cross over as these guys are basically in there for the money and power.
But putting these guys back in the ruling coalition, will bring the opposition coalition into doing the same things as what is probably one of the causes of bn’s downfall, namely corruption. And since these guys are just position and power crazy, they will carry on corrupt practices, bringing disrepute to the coalition. Is this what the rakyat wanted when they voted DAP/PAS/PKR into power?
YB, as much as we are all thrilled with the way things have turned out, I think that at the rate Anwar is acting, DAP will suffer greatly in the next elections. DAP needs to reinvent itself going forward. Yes, if you say umno, mca, mic, gerakan and ppp have to reinvent themselves, so does DAP. Dont miss the opportunity to do so, and dont rest on your laurels after this elections.
Your own Party’s comments made before the elections points to DAP being a party for the chinese, as DAP was electing to stand only in chinese majority seats. Well you did well. But with the swing to a Malaysian Malaysia, DAP will soon find itself outnumbered and outflanked by PKR. So it is imperative that DAP reaches out to the Indian and Malay community.
The move to have a PAS MB in Perak if openly welcomed by you and DAP would have been an ideal opportunity to win many Malays over. That opportunity has slipped you by. Look, the Malays have a choice today. They have umno, PAS and PKR. Of course they also have ppp and gerakan too. You have to take concrete steps to make them also consider DAP as a choice.
The Hindraf issue was the opportune moment to get many Indians to join DAP. I did my bit and managed to get many to join. DAP has to become a multi-racial party and must be seen to be one. Just look at your membership by race and see how it is racially biased. What should you be doing to get more recruits? Please get your people on the ground to aggressively register more members now, while things look good for DAP. Work to increase your Indian and Malay membership. As part of the ruling coalition now, it will be easier to get more people to sign up. To sign up more Malays, you need to be seen to be looking out for their rights and interests. The NEP issue will backfire against DAP as the MSM media is still continuing with its biased reports.
So going forward, DAP has to set up its ideology and principles, so it can be perceived as a party for all Malaysians.
I think this should start now so that DAP remains relevant going forward. Before you know it, the next elections will be before us. It will be too late by then.
Just imagine what would happen if parties such as ppp, mic and gerakan merge with mca? Of course, the greatest threat to DAP would be if all those parties merge with umno to form, United Malaysian National Organisation, and not Malay! You need to be several steps ahead of bn if you want to remain relevant in the future.
