Big Thank you to All

Dear friends, thank you for all the support. Certainly, I would like to specially thank you for assisting me as polling and counting agents.

Also, I need to apologise for any inconveniences caused. My agent told me that some of you had to be “imprisoned” in the room for long hours, thousand of apologies.

I have been going around in my constituency thanking my voters. At the same time, hearing their complaints. They gave me the feeling of - We are their HOPE!

I am like you too, hoping that this Barisan Rakyat will carry out the amanah of the people responsibly.

I have many photographs to share with you but, hardly can find the time to sit down quietly to get them uploaded. So, please wait.

Thank you again, for all the help.

  4. I am proud to be your agent. It was not that difficult at all. I urge more younger generation to step forward and volunteer. Being an agent, it gives us an oppurtunity to do our part for democracy as well as to see how general election run. Also we are able to meet up with more people who can share their view. Its a big responsibility being agent and its very exciting, especially during the vote counting, as you get to know the result first than others. Ha Ha. So, younger generation please come forward and be more active, not only during general election but to participate and get involved with DAP at any time. Helping DAP is actually helping ourself to fight for our future in Malaysia.

Po Kuan, well done again. It was a pleasure working with your team, Ms. Kong, Ah Fun and Ah Choy. They are very experience people and helpful. I am ready to work with them again at any time.

Keep in touch. C u later.

  6. I refer to Leong WK’s comments. It’s great to see so many new faces helping out at DAP’s polling centre especially during ceramahs. You always feel great and proud after 5pm and I can imagine the feeling knowing the person you supported is leading all the way to the finishing line during the counting process.

Unfortunately, I have never had that “feel good” experience during my days helping out 20 years ago - because we lost. Hahaha.

This year I missed out again due to work commitments and health reason but I was at the Ipoh Timur Operations Centre shouting my hearts out whenever Mr Wong announced the results.

To YB Fong, I attended 4 of your ceramahs and everyone knew you would win but we were there just to add to the “feel good” atmosphere. lol again.

Post election, I hope to contribute to the party but have yet to meet any of the YBs as you all are very very busy for the moment. No worries, we are here to contribute.

    Cheers!

  8. Seeing BR won so many seats make us worry very much about the quality of the new YBs in the parliament. Ask yourself honestly and be truthful, is DAP ready? are all the YBs won with victory ready? Guan Eng asked us to give DAP time because it’s new, i don’t think this is professional as every political party should never said so, we’re here with expectation, not wasting our time. Sorry that we did comment quite alot in our blogs, but 爱之深,责之切。our votes were with DAP for the past elections, but now DAP have to truly prove themselves before the next election, don
‘t ask for more time frame again and saying that 4 years is not enough.

  11. I am a KL resident. Thus, I was a PACA for Jenice Lee. I believe we can learn much if we gather the PACAs together to share our experiences. Then we can avoid the pitfalls and improve in the next GE. In fact, I have written a report on my experience as a PACA.

  12. Good to see you back. Congratulations and best wishes. Now the hard work begins. Yes, DAP is our hope but not our only hope. Please do not self-destruct through infighting or disagreements with your political partners and better things will come next GE. We will then want more changes for the betterment of the people.

  17. I attended your ceramah in SS2 & was really moved by your speech. Prior to the ceramah I was like you said, reckoned that this country has no hope for us the minority. Every capable youth I know of is either making plans to migrate or has migrated. It makes me want to leave too. But you said there is still hope in this country for us if we do the right thing on 8 March 2008. And yes, since then I live everyday with new hope and my faith, restored. Thank you Po Kuan.

  19. You are indeed inspiring… hope there is hope for the marginalized children of malaysia as we voted for the winds of change… Do table in Parliament what is Sharizat and Dr Ng Yen2 doing for children with poor mental health which is affecting > 300,000 children (data from Health ministry). What is the new health minister plans? After 50 years of independence, Malaysia don’t even have a proper psychiatric ward for children and they are ‘caged’ together with adults? Can anyone seen all the child psychiatric ward in the whole of Malaysia and let us know the condition….

  20. Hi MP& all,

This is extracted from CNA quoting some of our PM’s words.

    http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/southeastasia/view/337154/1/.html

M’sia PM admits his government’s mistakes that led to worst electoral defeat
    By Channel NewsAsia’s Melissa Goh | Posted: 25 March 2008 2017 hrs

Among the mistakes, he said, was the failure to counter threats in cyberspace as opposition parties turned to the internet to reach out to the young and educated urban voters.

    Quote 1:
“Mr Abdullah continued: “In the last election, we certainly lost the war on internet. It was a very serious misjudgement and the need to respond was not there at all. Not because we were slow but because we made the biggest mistake thinking that it was not important.” ”

I personally feel that there is no cyber threat or whatoever. We are facing more threats in terms of crime rates. I travel a lot across Asia Pac region, I don’t feel safe in KL and JB.
I think everyone hope to see some improvements.

His government had earlier warned of imminent hikes after global crude oil prices hit US$110 per barrel.

    Quote 2:
Many Malaysians have blamed him for not being able to keep prices in check and voted for the opposition in protest.

Too many occasions when you see people queuing up at petrol station at before mid night just in case the rumour about petrol hike materialize. This is because citizens are worried that the ruling party will play last minute trick. I am badly embarrassed by this situation as I am regularly approached by friends asking me if the price of petrol will go up tomorow?(I am in Oil and Gas industry so they thought I have some ideas)

MP, congrats! Hope you can lead us to a better future!

    Kudos~

  21. Congrates! You may not have read what I have written earlier asking you not to quite though my comment appeared in Sinchew Daily. Again, if your hubby is still willing to be a frontrunner in politics, I really hope both of u can shift ur attention to Johor especially around Segamat area. This time the Subramaniam only won by few thousands. If DAP & PKR are willing to put in more effort beginning now, I am optimistic that DAP or PKR can win the Segamat or Labis seat in next GE. Not to be afraid to anyone but a true leader must go where most dare not go!

  23. Ms Fong, Wrote quite a long story yesterday but cannot get
through because, silly me, entered the anti spam numbers
    b4 I wrote the letter.
Yes, according to Ravi, who’s comment is just above, maybe
all supporting staffs and helpers are really tired up by
all the excitement of the pass 3 weeks, but please, do put
on an interesting face so that, ppl might not construe your
staff as snobbish, not helpful or whatever.
Of course, if we take the time to go to your service center,
it most probably would be to ask for your advice and help.
Unlike rakyat’s of yesteryear, ppl now are more discerning
    and well read.
Sorry, haven’t congratulate you on retaining the BG seat,
but now problem again looming in the form of Buntong Subra.
Hope everything gets ironed out for the betterment of Perak
    Barisan Rakyat….
