Free Our Malaysians of ISA

A piece which I wrote earlier but did not post it up ( the camera was not in my possession) . My prayers were answered. Now, I have decided to post it for your pleasure reading but, the calls for the abolishment of ISA should be continued…

When I received the sms about the arrest of Teresa Kok under ISA, I did not dare to let my mum know about it. I was with some members after attending three lantern festival gathering and a funeral ceremony. We started asking, why Teresa? What wrong has she done? These questions were asked too when we heard about the news of the arrest of Sin Chew reporter, Tan Hoo Cheng.

When I reached home, I asked my dad to leave his bedroom ( pretending asking him to read to me the newspaper report about a lantern festival event at Kg Baru Bukit Merah) and I told him about the news. My mum was in bed and she later asked my dad as to why I had to get him over to my room.

The next day, I was told that Dad told a lie to Mum, telling her that he needed to use the bathroom. It sounded weird to Mum when their bedroom is attached with a bathroom.

I did not want Mum to have sleepless night. In fact, after the news, that night, I could not sleep well. (more…)

The BN BBC Taiwan “Educational Trip”, Possible But Not Parliament Meetings For Budget Debate

The BN Backbenchers were indeed all smiling heading to Taiwan. The Deputy PM, as the Whip approved the “educational trip”. They stressed that it was nothing wrong to go for such a trip as long as it was productive.

It is not illegal. It is not immoral to for an “educational trip.” A study trip to acquire agricultural knowlege. It was reported earlier that 49 BN Bachbencher MPs participating in the said trip.

The Parliament sitting was adjourned on Ogos, 29 after the tabling of the budget. It will resume with debate of the said budget on October, 13.

The Parliament was adjourned because of fasting month. I could recall that when I was first elected in 1999, meeting was held during the said period. Then, a few years later, it was scheduled as “break for fasting month.”

According to the Standing Order of the House, it only requires 26 MPs to meet the quorum.

Parliament used to meet on fasting month . Now they are making it possible for an “educational trip” during this period but not possible for Parliament to meet to debate the budget. They are getting the priorities wrong. Just because of the date, 916.

It was indeed a “Malaysia Boleh” spirit under the BN leadership.

Mooncake Festival

We, in Malaysia, celebrate many festivals in a year. Which one do you like best?

I have always like mooncake festival. It is a festival which brings me back sweet memories.
Why mooncake festival? The paper lantern and mooncake, though, I can’t eat much.

My sisters and I used to compete with our neighbours in lighting up candles at the balcony. The moment the wind blown off the candles, we would as quick as possible light them up again. It was a “competition” to ensure our spot was the brightest and we were having more candles! How chidlish, but it left with me some good “young days”. (more…)
