The BN BBC Taiwan “Educational Trip”, Possible But Not Parliament Meetings For Budget Debate
The BN Backbenchers were indeed all smiling heading to Taiwan. The Deputy PM, as the Whip approved the “educational trip”. They stressed that it was nothing wrong to go for such a trip as long as it was productive.
It is not illegal. It is not immoral to for an “educational trip.” A study trip to acquire agricultural knowlege. It was reported earlier that 49 BN Bachbencher MPs participating in the said trip.
The Parliament sitting was adjourned on Ogos, 29 after the tabling of the budget. It will resume with debate of the said budget on October, 13.
The Parliament was adjourned because of fasting month. I could recall that when I was first elected in 1999, meeting was held during the said period. Then, a few years later, it was scheduled as “break for fasting month.”
According to the Standing Order of the House, it only requires 26 MPs to meet the quorum.
Parliament used to meet on fasting month . Now they are making it possible for an “educational trip” during this period but not possible for Parliament to meet to debate the budget. They are getting the priorities wrong. Just because of the date, 916.
It was indeed a “Malaysia Boleh” spirit under the BN leadership.

Utterly off tangent observation YB! Why must you question every thing to the point that you are being seen as picky and cheap.
So whats wrong adjourning the house during fasting month?
With the likes of you in parliament whose antics are more for theatrical performance than substance, I think the adjournment is appropriate considering people of Malaysia do not want to hear your rantings during this holy month.

YB Po Kuan
You are so reasonable and sharp minded (No wonder Ong Ka Chuan no match against you, hehe).Malaysia needs more people like you.
The current budget issue is like me showing you a beautifully looking chicken roasted fresh from the oven but only invite you all to come and taste it in a month’s time.

Whack them YB. Parliament break during fasting month. If we continue with the present government, very soon all government department will also have break during fasting month and everybody will go oversea for ’study trip’. This is what we call hypocrites, irresponsible and getting wrong priority. I think all of us need a break, so ‘just make dunno’.After all what is there to discuss-the budget? shi..! a forgone conclusion-I think you know YB,unless we can change with a new budget proposal or otherwise it is fait accompli. Ai say man..bila la Malaysia nak berubah.

Your next heading possibly be, “Politicians turn farmers”
This study trip is to prepare them as redundant MPs, a new environment to show their talents…among the mad cows and ‘chickens’.

Hei UzbekMan, its terribly wrong when the reason for adjourning Parliment sitting due to Puasa Month and flying off to Taiwan for what we don’t know they are doing…….
Its perfectly alright if the Parliment Sitting is adjourned so that the muslim YBs can concentrate on their religious practice.
Aiyoyo Uzbekman, no wonder Malaysia is so backwards with such simple resoning.

Definitely agree with Sis…
It is not reasonable for a breaking month during fasting for the Parliament.
As for us the working individuals, the fact that there are only 365 days in a year and excluding 104 days of Saturdays and Sundays weekends, we have left 261 working days. Festivals: Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali,New Year, etc…also we must not work…
Ever since many targets were made for Malaysia to be a developed country, not much “changes” I could barely see with my own eyes…
