Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri To Malaysians

I have decided not to visit the open house of the Prime Minister, Pak Lah this year. I wanted to, a month ago. I even busy searching for one set of nice baju for the intended visit when I was in Kuala Terengganu, for a 2 days visit, a month ago. I did not pursue my intention to get one when I am back here, in Ipoh.

I had attended the Raya’s open house of the Prime Minister for a few times. There was once, I was a little embarrassed for wearing the same set of baju for the consecutive two years. Once, I took my mum dan sisters along too.

The recent arrest of Teresa Kok and others under ISA, has dampened my celebration mood with the Prime Minister. How could he allow such an arrest and detention to have taken place?

He was known as “Mr Nice Guy” and he won over 90% of the votes in 2004 General Election. I did write about him giving me some hope for a better Malaysia for all Malaysian, when he delivered his first speech as the successor of Tun Mahathir in Parliament. It was in year 2003.

Although his days now, as the Prime Minister is numbered, I would not sympathized with him. I would only question myself for being so wrong in judging a person. Pak Lah has disappointed Malaysians and this was proven in the March, 2008 General Election.

Pak Lah, I would only wish you “Selamat Hari Raya Adil Fitri” in this posting and posted in my blog. I could only find reasons for not attending the open house at PWTC.

Also Pak Lah, in this bulan Syawal, and your remaining days as Prime Minister, you can eradicate evils and do good deeds by thinking Marina Lee, the wife of Raja Petra and his children, celebrating Hari Raya without the husband and father by their side. Then, come Deepavali, the family members of the 5 Hindraf leaders will be going through the same situation. And, many more in the detention camps, detained under ISA for years now. Please do not delay further in releasing them.

When you read this posting, please do not make remarks that I am being personal. It is just part of my emotional being , being a human being.

To All Malaysians too, “Selamat Hari Raya Adil Fitri.”

  1. dear YB,

i never bother to go to any BN organised gathering because:
    i) too many people go there for food,
ii) it is a BN sanctioned feel good propaganda event,
iii) if they really want to do good to this nation, just do their work properly…

  3. good for you not to go,i am afraid after you and your hubby try to prove something just to annoyfor the sake of disagree with them by kissing in the public which you try to champion years ago. if i am your parents i will be very embarassed because i am sure your parents are not “kwai loh”
who teach you these kind of manners in the public.

  4. May be kissing in public is not culturally acceptable in our society, it is not an indecent act anyway, but a way people show their love and affection for each other. Some may not like it but why critisize or even arrest and fine? I won’t be embarassed as a Malaysian to see fellow Malaysians kissing in public, I think there are many other embarrassing issues in Malaysia today such as corruption, to name just one.

  6. showing love and affection or showing off in public?like there is no other way to show love. maybe you’re the one who also support gay marriages, nudist beach etc .i am a school teacher and i know what is wrong and right.i am talking about MANNERS,you can do whatever you like inside your own home like throwing rubbish around, etc but in public there are rules.i am not going to agree to some morons from western society who try to teach us about what is wrong and right.look at what is happening in western society today.CORRUPTION is also another issue but i am talking about MANNERS here.
